OCEANS MOVIE FILMING AROUND CANO ISLAND AND DRAKE BAY

Galatee Films and Disney Films filmakers spent over 200 hours caturing the amazing Cano Island  and surrounding Drake Bay waters footage.

Their production team had spent years scouring the globe for spinner dolphins on a grand enough scale to be featured in the new movie "Oceans" due to be released on Earth Day 2010.

How would the local creatures look and preform on the biggest screens in the world, filmed by the best cameras in the world.  Were the spinner groups big enough to fill an IMAX screen?

Could they hold their own with the most spectacular big screen footage ever captured in a movie?

Would they help the mission of the film and inspire the world to conserve the oceans?

See more of this amazing story and trailers to the movie on Shawn Larkins-Local Whale experts' site

CANO ISLAND has an enchanting history and was a ceremonial site for indians and burial site for shayman.  Many golden eagles and figurines were found on Cano Island and in the Drake Bay area including huge stone sheres also used in the ceremonies.

Later Drake Bay served as a sheltered refuge for Sir Francis Drake and is the fabled location of the British pirate's hidden treasures.

Now the treasures we take from here are the memories of this magnificent eco system and the knowledge of it's importance in the quest to preserve one of nature's most amazing eco systems!

Experience the real Corcovado National Park from this Drake Bay gateway with local guides and staff who have made this their home and are living in harmony with nature!
