Corcovado Jungle Eco Lodge is nestled in the heart of the virgin rain forest it is an adventure just getting to this jungle retreat! This jungle eco lodge gives you an opportunity to experience first hand the magic of this magnificent reserve which connects to Corcovado National Park, "The crown jewel of Costa Rica's famous national park system", creating a biological corridor for native habitat.

 

Our private 100 acre forestry reserve provides a safe haven to many endangered species and staying with us helps to keep this reserve intact. Located in the indian "pueblo" of Los Planes and surrounded by vast expanses of rain forest reserves you'll have the opportunity to hike private trails to refreshing waterfalls and rivers, fly through the trees like the monkeys with the new canopy tour bordering our reserve, join expert marine biologists tracting the local populations of whales and dolphins in an attempt to enlarge the present Cano Island reserve to encompass the Drake Bay area including serveral coral reef reserves along the coast, snorkel the lagoon and coral reef of Rio Claro/Sanjosecito beaches, kayak tours of river sheds and ocean coast, ride horses through jungle trails and gallop along sandy beaches,snorkel or dive Cano Island, explore Corcovado National Park and surrounding reserves or just kick back with a fresh squeezed lemonade on one of our hammocks in our botanical gardens. Here we have carefully selected a variety of flowers, fruits, medicinal plants and nuts to tempt the appetites of our jungle friends. We have alos planted hundereds of native hardwoods.

 

We recently added monkey bridges to connect an isolated reserve with our reserve which connects via several private jungle reserves to the park. Majestic scarlet macaws toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, motmots, trogans can be enjoyed from a 1 meter distance from the inlodge terraces feeding in the wild almond, orange, guayaba, guanabana, mango & guava trees beside the 2nd and 3rd floor terraces. Morpho butterflies, mischievous white face monkeys and howler monkeys are among our frequent visiting diners. Then by the light of the moon and the enchanting sounds and aromas of the jungle maybe you can catch a glimpse of some of the local wildlife from the dining terraces, bridges & decks connecting throughout the jungle ravine in our private 100 acre reserve. We frequently spot bands of kinkajous feeding on the papaya & nancy fruit. We have also planted many species of banana & plantain that we share with them too! The surrounding wildlife refuge is home to many endangered species including the elusive jaguar and 4 other species of wild cats, tapir, golden frog & other poisonous dart frogs, magestic harpy eagle and the world's largest population of scarlet macaw to name a few.
